Conference Best
Presentation Awards:

The International Society of Electrochemistry will award the Best Oral and Best Poster presentations given by PhD students and young researchers up to the age of 30. More details in the page Conference Awards.

Conference Accommodation Grants:

The Hyceltec 2017 Organizing Committee will offer some accommodation grants to a number of presenting PhD students up to the age of 30. More details in the page Conference Awards.

Useful Information

• Weather
  Usually, July in Porto is sunny and warm (18-28 ºC). Please consider that Porto is located by the ocean, and therefore can be windy in the late afternoon or evening.


• Electricity
  Portuguese standard is the European type 2 pin sockets with 230 volts AC at 50 Hz.


• Banking 
  Banks open from Monday to Friday (usually from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm)


• Currency 
  Since 2002 the EURO (€) is the official currency of Portugal. Money can be changed at the airport, at banks, exchange bureaus, and larger hotels. For a cash advance, credit cards and Maestro-cards can be used at ATM (“Multibanco”) which are available all over the city.


• Insurance and Liability 
  Participants should arrange whatever insurance they consider as necessary. No responsibility can be assumed by the symposium committee for personal accidents, sickness, theft, or property damage suffered by the participants.


• Health Requirements
  With the exception of vaccination certificates for persons coming from areas where yellow fever is endemic, at the present there are no special health requirements.
