"Vinho Verde": Like no other wine in the world.
In the Northwest of Portugal, enclosed between high mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, there is a region of fresh and green valleys where a wine with a unique profile worldwide is produced: The light, fresh, young and aromatic Vinho Verde.
Medium in alcohol, Vinho Verde has great digestive properties due to its freshness and special qualities. It is a highly regarded wine, especially for summer drinking. The reds are full-bodied wines with an intense color and rosy or light red foam. The whites usually present a lemony or straw color. There are still the "Rosés" (pink) and the sparkling ones.
The strong distinctive character and originality of these wines are the result of soil and climate characteristics, the grape varieties and the vine growing methods.
The region, a great amphitheatre from the seaside towards the inland, has a climate greatly influenced by the orographic characteristics and the extensive fluvial network: cold and rainy winters and hot and dry summers.

Adega Ponte de Lima (River Lima Bridge Cellars) is one of the great cellars in the region of Vinho Verde, representing around 2000 growers with an estimated production of six million litres. It is located in the town of Ponte de Lima - the oldest town in Portugal - in the heart of the Lima river valley.
Adega Ponte de Lima is a modern institution owing the Quality Certification NP EN ISO 9001:2008. Due to the natural characteristics of the soil and climate and the varieties grown, produce wines that are very different, although sharing the common characteristics of Vinho Verde: fruity and fresh with medium alcoholic strength.
Adega Ponte de Lima produces red, white and sparkling wines of high quality, frequently awarded in International Competitions, carefully supervised by the renowned winemaker Fernando Moura.
Among the white wines, the Loureiro variety is of particular importance due to its magnificent adaptation to the terroir of the Lima valley, making wines highly appreciated for their aroma and for their organoleptic qualities. Among the red wines, the Vinhão variety is considered an excellent product due its aroma, intense colour, good structure and typicalness.
